What is this program?

This is a structured 12-week reintegration programme designed to support wāhine who are ready to rebuild stability, confidence, connection and direction within a safe, supportive and trauma-responsive environment.

We recognise that moving forward isn’t always as simple as finding a job. Sustainable change often starts earlier, with strengthening the foundations that allow someone to participate more fully in their own life, whānau and community.

This programme combines:

  • Personal development and therapeutic education

  • Emotional regulation and nervous system awareness

  • Confidence and self-belief

  • Healthy relationships, boundaries and communication

  • Routine, responsibility and capacity building

  • Recovery and understanding patterns

  • Practical life skills

  • Connection with other wāhine

  • Goal setting and pathway planning

  • Introduction to employment, education and training pathways

  • Practical skill development

  • Mentorship and ongoing connection

  • Basic beauty training

The goal is simple:
To bridge the gap between survival and meaningful participation in life, whānau and community, creating stronger foundations for whatever comes next.

Dress for Success Partnership

We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with Dress for Success Christchurch as part of the For Her programme.

Dress for Success is an amazing Christchurch organisation dedicated to helping women build confidence and move towards employment and financial independence through practical support, career guidance, and professional styling services. Their mission goes far beyond clothing. They help women feel prepared, capable, and confident as they step into new opportunities.

As part of this partnership, participants in our programme will have access to a private one-on-one styling appointment where they can work with a stylist to select clothing that suits their goals, personality, and circumstances. This includes access to quality clothing, shoes, accessories, jewellery, and other essentials to help them feel confident and work-ready. Appointments are delivered with dignity, respect, and complete confidentiality.

For us, this partnership aligns perfectly with our kaupapa. Reintegration isn’t just about employment skills. It’s about rebuilding confidence, identity, and self-belief. We’re incredibly grateful to be working alongside an organisation that understands the powerful connection between how we feel about ourselves and our ability to move forward.

Who is this for?

For Her Reintegration Program is open to wāhine 18+ who:

  • Are navigating a period of rebuilding or transition

  • Want to strengthen confidence, stability and direction

  • Are ready to explore patterns, build practical tools and create change

  • Can commit to attending once a week for 12 weeks

  • Want greater connection, purpose or participation in their life, whānau or community

We especially welcome wāhine who are rebuilding following experiences such as:

  • Family or domestic violence

  • Addiction or recovery

  • Justice system involvement

  • Long-term unemployment or financial hardship

  • Generational disadvantage

  • Significant life transitions

  • Social isolation or disconnection

  • Barriers to employment, education or community participation

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You just need to be willing to take the next step.

For Her Foundations is not an employment or beauty training programme it is a pathway. Our beauty studio and community spaces provide a supportive environment where wāhine can reconnect with themselves and others, build confidence, establish routine and begin exploring what comes next. For some, that next step may be employment. For others, it may be study, training, recovery, strengthening whānau relationships, greater independence or simply creating more stability in everyday life.

There is no single definition of moving forward. Our program is about helping each wahine identify what progress looks like for her and supporting her to begin building toward it.
