Welcome to your
transformation story
I know you’re here because something within you is ready for change.
You’ve experienced pain, self-doubt, and moments of feeling lost, but deep down, you know there’s more waiting for you.
You’re ready to break old patterns, heal, and create a life aligned with who you truly are.
The Healing Self is a 1:1 integrative therapy programme for those ready to move beyond surviving and begin living with greater self-worth, resilience, and authenticity. Through my integrative, trauma-responsive therapeutic approach, we explore the deeper patterns, beliefs, and emotional barriers that may be keeping you feeling stuck.
No quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. This is personalised therapeutic work that supports meaningful, lasting change. Blending breathwork, emotion-focused therapy, shadow work, somatic practices, and psychological understanding, we create space to process your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and develop new ways of moving forward.
This isn't just about feeling better. It's about healing, growing, and building a life that reflects your worth and potential.
Whether you're navigating trauma, self-worth, relationship challenges, or barriers to your personal and professional growth, this is a space to explore what's holding you back and move towards meaningful change.
Are you ready to show up for yourself?
The healing self program is for you if ...
🦋 You're ready to break free from old patterns, heal past wounds, and create a new chapter for yourself.
🦋 You want to build deeper, more authentic relationships without losing yourself in the process.
🦋 You're ready to strengthen your self-worth, establish boundaries, and stop seeking validation from others.
🦋 You're craving greater emotional balance, inner peace, and the ability to navigate life's challenges with confidence.
🦋 You want to reconnect with your authentic self and create a life aligned with your values, purpose, and potential.
🦋 You're ready to explore your inner world, take ownership of your growth, and commit to meaningful, lasting change.
You don't need to have everything figured out. Just a willingness to begin.
The way we do things is different ...
The Healing Self is grounded in an integrative, trauma-responsive therapeutic approach that brings together psychological understanding, somatic practices, emotional processing, breathwork and indigenous healing perspectives.
My approach is shaped by my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Anthropology, postgraduate qualifications in Counselling and Guidance, and training in breathwork, body-based therapies and Māori healing practices.
I believe meaningful healing involves more than understanding your experiences. It's about learning to relate to yourself differently. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, our sessions are guided by your individual experiences, needs and goals. Drawing on attachment theory, emotion-focused approaches, somatic practices and nervous system awareness, we explore how past experiences may be influencing your present patterns, relationships and sense of self.
My practice is informed by Te Ao Māori recognising the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit and relationships, while creating space for your own cultural identity and values.
The Healing Self bridges emotional healing with practical, everyday change. Together, we work towards strengthening emotional regulation, developing self-awareness, building healthier relationships and creating meaningful shifts in how you navigate your life.
This isn't about becoming someone new. It's about reconnecting with who you are, understanding what's shaped you, and building the capacity to move forward with greater confidence, authenticity and intention.
What to expect
90-Minute Sessions, Every Fortnight
I believe meaningful therapeutic work deserves time and space. While traditional 50-minute sessions can be valuable, they don't always allow sufficient time for deeper exploration, emotional processing and grounding. Our 90-minute sessions create more room to work at your pace, without rushing the therapeutic process.
Space for Integration & Self-Responsibility
Our fortnightly structure is intentional. Healing doesn't happen only within the therapy room; it happens through how you integrate what you're learning into everyday life. The space between sessions encourages reflection, personal responsibility and opportunities to practise new ways of responding, helping you build resilience, confidence and emotional capacity rather than becoming dependent on ongoing therapeutic support.
Online & In-Person Therapy
Sessions are primarily held online, allowing you to access support wherever you are. In-person sessions may be available for suitable clients, depending on individual needs and circumstances.
A Personalised Therapeutic Journey
There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll develop an individualised treatment plan with clear therapeutic goals, ensuring our work remains intentional, relevant and focused on what matters most to you.
An Integrative Approach
Depending on your needs and goals, sessions may incorporate emotional processing, somatic practices, breathwork, attachment-based approaches and nervous system regulation.
Ongoing Reflection & Progress
We'll regularly revisit your goals, reflect on your progress and adapt our approach as needed, supporting meaningful changes that extend beyond our sessions.
Access to Group Therapy Programmes
You'll receive complimentary access to any group therapy programmes I facilitate during your package, offering additional opportunities for connection, learning and personal growth.
Meet your therapist
Hey there! I'm Mel, the heart and soul behind The Healing Self Program.
I'm a devoted māmā of three, therapist, entrepreneur, and founder of For Her Movement, with a passion for holistic wellness, healing, and personal growth.
For the past five years, I've supported individuals navigating trauma, addiction, emotional challenges, and personal development, drawing on professional knowledge and lived experience.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Anthropology, postgraduate qualification in Counselling and Guidance and breathwork certification. I've also trained in Māori healing practices and somatic approaches, strengthening my passion for bridging contemporary therapy with traditional and holistic healing.
This same passion led me to establish For Her Movement, a not-for-profit supporting wāhine through reintegration, empowerment, and pathways towards independence.
As a māmā navigating motherhood, business, and my own healing journey, I believe in living what I teach, embracing authenticity, resilience, and continual growth. My vision is to create therapeutic spaces that honour mind, body, and spirit, empowering others to heal, reconnect with themselves, and create meaningful change.
Welcome to my world.
